Tatsu Tatsu no Mi

Translation Dragon Dragon Fruit
Meaning Dragon
English Name Dragon Dragon Fruit
Type Zoan
Power Dragon Transformation
Eaten By Muramasa
Story / Creator Viva la Vida by Cyberweasel89

The Tatsu Tatsu no Mi is a Zoan Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a dragon or a dragon-human hybrid. It was eaten by Muramasa, the Blacksmith of the Outlaw Pirates.

Appearance

The fruit looks like a green raspberry with blue leaves, swirls covering the fruit and leaves.

Strengths

The major strength of the fruit is that transformation into a dragon or dragon-human hybrid gives the user access to wings, fire breath, claws, sharp teeth, and protective scales. Normally, the full dragon would also grant the user an increase in size, but Muramasa is a Giant, so he actually decreases in size slightly.

Weaknesses

The major weakness of the fruit is that the user will become vulnerable to a dragon's natural weakness: Tigers.

Usage

As Muramasa is peaceful, he rarely uses his Devil Fruit for combat. He mostly relies on his fire breath in hybrid form to help him with his smithing and forging. As he cannot fit inside the Outlaw Pirates's ship, he uses his full dragon form to fly above it, only coming down when needed (he keeps a Den Den Mushi with him so the rest of the crew can call him while's he's flying). The Outlaw Pirates's second ship has a special area modeled that can fit him, but he mostly flies above while the crew has their first ship.

However, in the few times that Muramasa has been forced into combat, he has shown that his Devil Fruit can make him an even more capable fighter than the average Giant. With his razor-sharp claws and immense strength, he can shred and tear through strong defenses. His sharp teeth can bite apart any weapon or structure. With his wings, he can generate winds to blow groups of enemies away. And with his fire breath, he can set an entire area ablaze. His powerful tail is also capable of sweeping down armies and knocking down buildings.

Trivia

  • This Devil Fruit is not to be confused with the Ryu Ryu no Mi.
  • "Ryu" and "Tatsu" are both two different Japanese words that both mean "dragon".
  • Cyberweasel89 is thinking of having the Ryu Ryu no Mi and Tatsu Tatsu no Mi classified under the same series of "Dragon Models", a model series detailing different types of dragons. Dragons in the model series could include Western Dragons, Eastern Dragons, Wyverns, Wyrms, Ice Dragons, Swamp Dragons, Dream Dragons, Hydras, etc.
